Cuba has invested significantly in Research and Development in agriculture over the years, which we see as a key component in supporting Trinidad and Tobago’s efforts in the development of this sector. Cubanidad has commenced the introduction of Cuba’s innovations, particularly in Green House Technology and tissue culture technology, seeds and animal husbandry, to selective local farmers with a view to creating the synergies where they exist in these areas. The government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has allocated significant expenditure towards the development of the Agricultural Sector with the objective of reducing the country’s food import requirements.
